Me and My Bollywood Prem

I was thinking to write for last many days as most of my friends are regular blogger. recently i was in jaipur when i met rajeev, who was working on to write something on bollywood.
As i am also a big fan of bollywood, so i decided that i will start with that.
Before joining the IIMK, I used to watch most of hindi movies in cinema hall (not on computer) for last 12 years..
I remember correctly that when i was in class 6th in Govt upper primary school no. 3, rajgarh. whole class went to see some children movie. that was first time when i saw a theatre. after that i saw a couple of movies in rajgarh with my family.
I saw movie 'Beta' during class 8th alone without any friend n family member. at that day L K Advani also came to rajgarh for public meeting. after listening to him at new bus stand, i went to movie hall after fighting alot with my mom. I am good in remembering some specific events and dates.. :)

The Navrang Takeej, only place for entertainment in my hometown was very specific in its nature. it was not a small theatre, it still function and has balcony and box as well. earlier a rickshaw used for publicity in all streets and roads of rajgarh. a guy on rickshaw used to announce the movie name and its characters name in his specific Andaaz on loud speaker, "Navrang Takeej ke vishal parde per, Aap dekhiye apne yaar dosto ko dikhaiye, Maato and bahno ki pasand shaan se chal raha hai 3 show me 'Sholay' some thing like that.
I live in main market of rajgarh on first floor,as the rickshaw came to near my house we used to come out in our balcony to listen him and to view the poster. my balcony's (Jharokha) height was more than my reach so i used to climb over the balcony's wall by keeping my foot on the JAALI of Jharokha.. Till the time the voice of loudspeaker faded, i used to hang there.

Till the 12th standard i watched many movies in our NAVRANG takeej. After 12th I went to Kota for PET preparation, there also i watched Yesboss within first week of my arrival. then their was a routine to watch a movie in after each mock test. at that time their were 5 picture halls in Kota. I visited all of them :)
Then came to Jaipur, Pink City. we entered to college on 20th August. on 15th September 1999 we watched the movie "Mast" starring Aftab n Urmila in Kohinoor theatre in Sanganer on first day first show (morning 9.30), it was new theatre at that time. we were around 7 friends their. As the song "ruki ruki si jindagi" started we all friends started dancing in our seats and then started to walk in front of screen. at that time security guards came and screening was halted, after lot of argument they allowed us to sit (as we were in college if they had thrown us out, it might become their problem :) ). That was awsome experience, Thanxs to Hemendra Purohit..
I watched many movie with him n pankaj soni during first year. I can count that during Sep to May, I watched 24 movies in theatre, though we used to go to cheapest theatre like laxmimandir (16/- or 25/- tkt) or Man prakash. I had a gr8 group in MNIT, we used to come back from theatre to college on foot mostly even from Ankur n Premprakash theatre (very far from MNIT). Even during exam gap also we used to go to see, i remember that Chal mere bhai or dulhan hum le jaayenge we watched during exam gap.
my first english movie in theatre was either Deep Sea or Mummy (dont remember correctly). these were in Hindi. Though I didnt like to see english movie but due to Kunal n Hemendra I had to see english movie. Our target was to see movie on very first day without reading reviews, due to that we saw some horrible movies like Khauf and many more. Most of movie which i saw with hemendra or guru or pankaj during college on sitting first three row (cost saving)... In the final year of my college days, frequency of movie reduced as myself and my other friends didnt get placements .

My first job at escorts in faridabad, at that time (2003) their was no multiplex in faridabad. their was one cinema hall where I and Ashish Dudeja went inside the hall, and we purchased tkt after getting the seat in theatre hall, this was a gr8 experience. a typical delhi language speaking person mostly in Faridabad, so not many families used to turn up to watch movies their. i saw Gangajal twice, boom :(, and many more during my 7 months in Faridabad.

Than I headed to Pune, their also i found many friend who were interested in watching movies in theatre. At that time my friend list included some girls also :), those 4 months was best period of my life so far. I cant forget the movie Taarjan (My Ayesha Prem was started after that movie) and Hum-Tum. there are many good memories associated with these movies. In pune most of theatre plays Jan-Gan-Man before starting movies, again a new experience. During my stay in Pune, I went to Mumbai with friends. In the evening we went to see 'Deewar' but their were no tkt available, we showed our Defence i-cards to guard and went inside to managers chambers. He gave away the tickets and then came to know the power of govt officers :).

Finally delhi, My room mates Haldi n Shital boss also avid fan of movies so we had a gr8 time.
PVR Priya was near to us in delhi, my most lovable hanging out place in delhi. Infact me and haldi watched two movies in a day twice. Then both of them get married and transferred from delhi so again their was less frequency of watching movie, but i used to see movie with peeyush most often. Goyal and Jaini are most aalsi people, whenver i used to go to gurgaon at their house, they used to spoil all programs though i watched many movies with them also but after lot of arguments.
DRDO gave me a lot of opportunities to travel in India, so I took this opportunity to see movie in many cities, especially Hyderabad which i like most after Jaipur. A unique theatre we visited, which used to charge high for front seat compare to back seats. isnt it interested?.

My bollywood prem still is intact but i m in calicut where theatre is quite far n not many of hindi movies are screened. But here i watch english movies as well though my first choice will always be hindi one, but still I should broaden my Horizon.
